Teresa Miles Walsh | CEO & Managing Director
Prior to founding AMA in 2003, Teresa was based in London as Vice Chairman and Managing Director, European Telecommunications, Media and Technology at Merrill Lynch. Before that, Teresa was Head of the European Media Investment Banking Group from 1997 until 2002; from 1989 until 1996 Teresa worked in various investment banking roles at Merrill Lynch New York, including Project & Lease Finance, Utilities and Media Groups. Teresa participated in transactions totaling in excess of $75 billion in deal value while at Merrill Lynch. Teresa received her MBA with distinction in 1987 from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and has her BA in Economics, Magna Cum Laude, also from Duke University. Teresa is an Emeritus member of the Board of Visitors at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and serves as an independent director and Audit Commitee member of the Board of Directors at Upland Software (UPLD) and previously was a Board Member and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Forest Road Acquisition Corp (FRX.U) before its de-SPACing (NYSE:BODY).
tarek sadi | partner and head of emea
Tarek is a corporate finance professional and entrepreneur with deep sector experience in media and technology. He joined Teresa’s team at Merrill Lynch after his MBA and was number two employee at Access. Tarek worked with Dubai International Capital, a sovereign wealth fund, in its emerging markets fund prior to expanding Endeavor, a global accelerator, in the Middle East. As an entrepreneur, Tarek has successfully launched and exited media and consumer businesses in Latin America and the Middle East. Tarek has also served on a number of Venture Capital investment committees over the past 12 years and is an active angel investor.
david e. oliver | managing director, americas
Dave joined AMA in 2021 and is responsible for sourcing and executing investment banking advisory business for the firm. His career includes 25 years of corporate & investment banking experience with direct responsibility for closing over US$200 billion of financing transactions. Dave has served in leadership roles for both private banking firms (Riverside Management Group, Silver Point Capital) as well as large, global financial institutions (JPMorgan Chase, The Toronto-Dominion Bank). He is the founder of Cygnus Advisors LLC, a Greenwich, CT-based investment & advisory firm that has invested in early-stage equity rounds exceeding US$250 million for communications and technology companies. He has served on the Boards of Directors for public & private technology companies. Dave earned BSBA and MBA degrees, with distinction, from Pennsylvania Western University and maintains the FINRA Series 7, 63 & 79 designations.
maya ziadeh | vice president, emea
Maya is a corporate finance professional with 13 years of investment banking, corporate finance advisory, and venture capital experience. Today, she is responsible for managing AMA transaction processes, including due diligence, financial modelling, and valuation. Prior to joining, Maya worked with leading, financial institutions in the MENA region and global firms, like Endeavor and the parent company of CMA CGM, handling the sourcing, evaluation, structuring and deal execution of international investment opportunities across numerous tech and non-tech sectors. Maya holds a BA from the American University of Beirut and an MSc from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University.
henna kamdar | associate
Henna joined Access Media Advisory in 2022 after completing her MBA at INSEAD. Prior to AMA, Henna spent over six years in the entertainment industry, where she spearheaded growth strategies and facilitated brand and media partnerships. In her roles with leading talent agencies, including CAA, ICM Partners, and UTA, she negotiated and executed endorsement deals while developing an extensive network of industry relationships. As the Director of Celebrity & Influencer Partnerships at the brand consulting firm Command Entertainment Group, she worked closely with clients to execute digital content strategies. Henna is a graduate of Emory University, where she received her Bachelor of Business Administration with a focus in Finance and Film & Media Management.
taylor marchin | associate
Taylor joined Access Media Advisory in 2021 and is a FINRA-registered representative with Pickwick Capital Partners. She provides transaction support to senior bankers and clients, including conducting financial and industry analysis, drafting marketing materials, and preparing client presentations. Prior to joining Access Media, Taylor was an Associate at Pickwick Capital Partners. Prior to joining Pickwick, she spent a year living in Shenzhen, China, developing the Women's National Hockey Team in preparation for the 2022 Olympics in Beijing. During this time, she was also a member of the first Chinese professional hockey team, which played in the Canadian Women's Hockey League. Taylor currently plays professionally for the Connecticut Whale in the National Women's Hockey League. She earned a BA in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology from Yale University and was a member of the women's varsity ice hockey team.
matthew schechter | head of private placements
Matt focuses on private placements for media or thematic venture and other fund categories and assists the AMA corporate finance team with direct investment placements. Matt has spent the last twelve years raising capital for hedge funds and PE funds, as well as debt and equity transactions, most recently working as an independent consultant. Previously, he worked for a private debt fund in capital raising and deal syndication. Prior to this role, Matt worked as an internal marketer at Eagle's View Capital, an alternative investment manager focused on niche, uncorrelated strategies and Arcoda Capital, a healthcare equity long/short manager. Matt began his career in Wealth Management at UBS and Morgan Stanley.
Susan Sharp | Administrative Officer and Research Associate
Susan Sharp has over 25 years of experience working in Investment Banking, and currently acts as Access Media Advisory’s London office manager working closely with the U.S. team. Susan is responsible for all administrative aspects including compliance, financial control, documentation review and general coordination of the transatlantic operations for Access Media Advisory. Ms. Sharp has a BA, MA and M.Phil in History of Art from Birkbeck College, University of London.
Jonathan Newcomb | senior advisor
Jonathan Newcomb serves as a Senior Advisor to Access Media Advisory. Until 2016, Mr. Newcomb worked as a managing director to Berenson & Company. Earlier in his career, he served as president and CEO of Cambium Learning, later sold to Veronis Suhler. Previously, Mr. Newcomb was Chairman and CEO of Simon & Schuster, and before that served as President and COO and was president of its professional publishing group before that. Prior to joining Simon & Schuster, Mr. Newcomb was president of the McGraw-Hill financial information group (Standard & Poor’s and Data Resources). He also served as a member of Viacom’s executive committee. Mr. Newcomb is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Columbia Business School. He was a first lieutenant in the US Army and is a decorated Vietnam veteran. He served on the boards of Journal Communications (NYSE), the BNA Corporation, and United Business Media (LSE) and currently serves on the board of Columbia Business School.
DOUG GREENWOOD | PRESIDENT OF PICKWICK CAPITAL PARTNERS
Doug has twenty-five years of experience in corporate finance, corporate and executive services, wealth management, and business origination and development. He was previously President and Head of Investment Banking, Trautman Wasserman & Co., Inc. Prior to that, he spent thirteen years at Deutsche Banc Alex Brown LLC as Managing Director, Corporate Executive Services Group. He also held officer-level positions at Chemical Bank and Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. Doug holds a BA from Princeton University.
